Not A Realty Bot- Are you just a lead?
Doug Lindstrom & Family
When I was little kid, I thought (like most) that I would end up playing professional baseball and not have much to worry about after ‘my career’ ended. Well, it took me a while to figure out that despite my Mom’s encouragement that she had no pull with professional baseball scouts in getting a mildly talented kid a shot at the big time. Even worse was the fact that I grew up in a real estate family and always told my Dad “your job is boring, I’ll never do what you do”. In fact, I did just about anything I could to avoid having an indoor job.
During high school, I was interested in construction, design and architecture. During the summer months, I worked for a custom builder as a laborer but despite my low status, I enjoyed learning many of the finer details of building a quality product. During college, I worked part-time for another builder that built homes on a massive tract scale. The business and technical side of home construction was intriguing to me so I decided to make a career out of it. I worked in various capacities with multiple builders and asset management companies as a customer service rep, a superintendent, project manager, a capital improvement project manager and finally as my own general contracting firm. After 16 years in the business, I knew that something else was out there for me. Initially, I rejected the thought of being in real estate because I gave my Dad such a hard time when I was a kid but in the end, I made a commitment to learn the business and be the best that I was capable of being. Having been licensed for 10 years, I could not be happier with my career choice. Yes, I wish the market was better (2009, 2010) but I get to do what I truly love to do and I believe real estate is very well suited to my education, work ethic, creativity and values.
Today, I am the Colorado Managing Broker for eXp Realty, a national cloud based brokerage. My team and I specialize in residential sales and property management in Northern Colorado (Loveland, Fort Collins, Windsor, Johnstown, Berthoud, Greeley, Tinmath, Evans, Eaton, Wellington, Longmont and Estes Park). I am always looking for quality agents to join the eXp team in Colorado, the US or Internationally..
On the personal side, I am the first to admit that I over-married and that I am blessed to be the father of three (yes, 3) beautiful little girls that make everyday a joy. In my spare time, I enjoy fly fishing, golfing, spending time in the mountains, playing racquetball, going to Colorado Eagles games, photography, reading on my Kindle and spending time with friends and family.
